Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information The Buckman Method (“we,” “us”) collects through buckmanmethod.com and our apparel shop, how we use it, and who it is shared with. It also covers our text-message program, BM Shop Alerts.

Information We Collect

• At checkout (through Stripe): your name, email address, shipping address (for physical items), and order details such as the products, sizes, colors, quantities and amounts. Card details are entered on Stripe’s secure checkout page and never reach our servers.
• Email updates: your email address if you sign up for book or shop updates.
• SMS alerts: the phone number of anyone who opts in to BM Shop Alerts.
• Things you send us: what you submit through our story form (such as your name, email, state and story) and any email you send us.
• Site usage: we use Google Analytics, which uses cookies to record pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and the site that referred you.

How We Use It

• Fulfilling orders. For apparel, we share your name, shipping address and the items ordered with Printful, which prints and ships your order. Payments are processed by Stripe. We share this information with them only to process payment and print and ship your order.
• Order emails. We use Resend to send order confirmations, book download links and shipping/tracking updates.
• Updates you asked for. If you signed up for book or shop updates, we email you about new books and products. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• Operational SMS alerts. BM Shop Alerts sends store-operations texts (for example, an order that is stuck or on hold) through Twilio, only to the store owner and staff who opted in. We do not send marketing texts.
• Improving the site. We review analytics to see which pages are useful.

Service Providers

We rely on these companies to run the store. Each one handles your information only on our behalf, to provide its service to us:

• Stripe: payment processing
• Printful: printing and shipping apparel orders
• Resend: sending email
• Twilio: sending BM Shop Alerts text messages
• Supabase: secure database storage for orders and customer records
• Vercel: website hosting
• Google Analytics: site usage statistics

SMS Privacy

Mobile opt-in data and consent are never sold, rented or shared with third parties, affiliates or lead generators for marketing purposes. Phone numbers are used only to send BM Shop Alerts messages and are shared only with Twilio, our SMS provider, so the messages can be delivered. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. We Don’t Sell Your Information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How Long We Keep It

We keep order records as long as we need them to fulfill orders, handle defect claims and meet tax and accounting obligations. We keep email-update addresses until you unsubscribe, and SMS opt-ins until you reply STOP.

Your Choices

• Unsubscribe from emails with the link in any message.
• Stop text messages by replying STOP.
• Ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing mike@buckmanmethod.com. We’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some order records to meet legal obligations.

Security

Payment details are handled by Stripe, a PCI-certified processor, and never touch our servers. Order and customer data is stored in access-restricted databases, and we limit access to what’s needed to run the store. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

Our site and store are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date above.
